Where is the Gallery folder in Android?

“gallery” is an app, not a location. Your pictures on your phone could be located anywhere, depending on how they got on your phone. Your camera will store its images at “/DCIM/camera”, or a similar location. Social media apps may download photos into the “/download” folder or a folder under the app’s name.

Photos taken on Camera (the standard Android app) are stored on either a memory card or in phone memory depending on the settings of the phone. The location of photos is always the same – it’s the DCIM/Camera folder. The full path looks like this: /storage/emmc/DCIM – if the images are on the phone memory.

To open Gallery and view your albums

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Gallery . OR.
  2. Open Gallery from the Camera application by tapping the thumbnail image in the lower right corner of the screen.

either go to all,and scroll all the way to the bottom, and you should see gallery there, click on it and hit enable, you also might have to scroll over to disabled and the app will show there, then do the same steps as above) now you should be all good.

The Gallery is gone, but that’s probably a good thing

Now with the Lollipop update hitting phones, Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 owners are noticing that their options have been trimmed down to one — Photos is now the default (and only) choice for photo handling.

The gallery items are stored generally on the internal storage of the phone or on the SD card. You have a DCIM folder on your phone’s internal memory or an SD card where all clicked pictures are stored.

An app crashing or some form of corrupt media may have caused your photos to go missing. There may, however, still be a small chance that the photos are there, somewhere on your phone, you just can’t find them. I advise checking the storage in “Device Care” and see if the Gallery app is using much storage.
